WRETF WORLD RADIOGRAPHY We are a very small independent radiography charity, entirely dependant on donations. Our aim is to promote and improve radiographic education throughout the world. One very important way you can help is by donating your old journals rather than putting them in the recycling bin! We are very keen to set up links between individuals or departments with departments which have little or no access to up to date technical information. If you are interested in sending or receiving journals, please contact Sue Marchant susan.marchant2@btinternet.com
Dominique Zerroug retires as trustee after many years service
Dominique, French trustee, was appointed in 1992 and as such was our longest serving trustee on the board for the last few years. She has been very busy promoting the WRETF with our Francophile ( French speaking) colleagues throughout the world. She was instrumental in organising workshops in French speaking African countries using WRETF funding to purchase texts in French. Most recently she assisted in a workshop in Cameroon ( see activities 2010) with Philippe Gerson, who succeeds her as our French trustee. In recent years she has been of great assistance translating the leaflets, forms and the website into French and organising the Spanish and German translations of the same. Her contribution to raising the profile of the WRETF can not be underestimated and she will be greatly missed and we wish her well in her retirement from the work as Trustee. She will not be leaving the WRETF completely as she has agreed to become a WRETF Ambassador.
Philippe Gerson appointed as new trustee At the March 2012 meeting of the trustees, held at the BIR in London, Philippe Gerson was officially appointed as the newest trustee of the WRETF.
WRETF AMBASSADORS The WRETF now have 5 ambassadors; 1 from Buenos Aires, 2 from France, 1 from New Zealand and 1 from the UK (London). These ambassadors are linked with specific trustees. These are Alex Ramirez for Buenos Aires, Philippe Gerson for France, Kay Collett for New Zealand, and Sue Marchant for our London Ambassador.
WRETF Twinning
The WRETF is very keen to promote its twinning initiative where radiology departments in the developed countries are twinned with radiology departments in the developing world. The twinned department in the developed world will send unwanted journals and textbooks to their twin department which is in need.
