Job Description: WRETF Ambassador

Term of Office

All WRETF country ambassadors will be appointed to a one-year term of office in the first

instance. Re-appointment for additional one-year terms can be granted indefinitely, but are

dependent on successful adherence to ambassador job description over the most recent term of

office and subsequent re-appointment approval by the WRETF Honorary Secretary on behalf of

the Trustees. Ambassadors will be “linked” with a Trustee in an appropriate country to facilitate

easy communication.

General Duties

To support WRETF Trustees in the work of the Trust through acting as a liaison between

Trustees and imaging departments if based within country of residence of the WRETF

Ambassador.

To support the work of the Trust by assisting potential applicants in their bid for support if based

in a developing country. To provide information to Trustees on potential areas of support.

This may involve seeking out potential applications and assisting with the completion of the

application form.

 

Specific responsibilities –Ambassadors in Developed Countries

- To seek out potential recipients of support within developing countries via the Ambassador’s

contacts.

- To establish communication with identified imaging departments which seek support from the

WRETF.

- To educate the imaging departments of opportunities for support available from the WRETF (to

include textbooks, journal twinning, and serving as a field research clinical site).

- To fundraise on behalf of the Trust.

- To publicise activities of the WRETF through word of mouth, presentations at appropriate

conferences, and distribution of WRETF leaflets/handouts.

- To liaise, where appropriate, with ISRRT members specifically in the Ambassador’s home

country.
